How to burn an ISO file to a CD in order to install the software?
A: ISO images files need to be burned to a disk specifically as an image, instead of a 'data' disk. Once you downloaded the software, you will end up with the ISO file which by default is saved in the C:\temp folder. You will have to burn it on a CD.using special software. A free disk burning program, Active@ ISO Burner, will allow you to burn ISO or disk images to a disk. Click Here for instructions on how to use the software.

How do I recover a lost password?Click here and and enter your SEU e-mail address.

Where do I get a CD?  From the reserve desk of the Scarborough-Phillips Library.  The "course" is MSDN AA.

I am a graduate student in the School of Management and Business.  Why can't I access ELMS?
Please go to ELMS, tell it you forgot your password, enter your e-mail address, and see if it sends your password.
If not, here are some possible reasons:

  • You are not using your St. Edward's e-mail address.  (If you are both an employee and a graduate student, you may need to use your student e-mail address.)
  • You are not registered for a course this term.
  • You registered late. Wait until after the last day to add or change courses, when we will update the ELMS access list.
  • You requested that SEU not release your e-mail address. Contact us, giving your St. Edward's e-mail address, permission to add your name to the ELMS access list, and the course number and instructor name for one of your current GSM courses.

Why can't I re-install with the same activation code?  Some Microsoft products require permission to re-install.  E-mail us, give your St. Edward's e-mail address, and explain the situation.  We may be able to help.

Why is the software I want not listed?  Go to msdnaa.com and verify that it is available from Microsoft.  If it is, send us an e-mail and we'll try to get it for you.  They have older operating systems (like Windows 98 and 2000), all the servers (like Commerce Server), many betas, and other tools.  Microsoft Office and its developer tools are not available.

Are there discounts on other software, such as Microsoft office?  Microsoft Office is not available under the MSDN AA program. However, many vendors, including Microsoft, offer academic discounts. Go to the bookstore site and follow the "Student Software Discounts" link near the upper right corner, or try searching the Internet.

Why is my virus detection software warning me of a problem with MsiExec.exe while installing?  We don't know, but we believe it is safe to allow MsiExec to run.

Why doesn't the software work?  If you contact us, we can sympathize, but it's unlikely we can help. Try your instructor, a friend, Microsoft support newsgroups or Google newsgroups.
